“A Bride should be two things~ Classy and Fabulous”

19 Aug

First off, I have to say~ Happy “woulda been” birthday to the fabulous Coco Chanel! You forever changed the fashion world and taught us all the value of a good strand of pearls! From here into eternity, the world is just a little more classy because of you.

We gave our readers the option to chime in on what they wanted to “pick our brains” about. One faithful follower, Brittiny, wanted to know- “How do you bring a certain theme together without making it appear cliche?” So what better time than now to bring two of our favorite things together- themes and Chanel. In this post, we will show you how to master a Coco Chanel inspired wedding without being “literal” or “cliché”. And for those of you who like literal and cliché, we’ll throw some of that in here too! There’s nothing wrong with either style~ just a matter of opinion! Chanel herself did say, “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different!” So we urge you to step outside of your Pinterest box and BE DIFFERENT!

Let’s pay homage to a few celebrity Chanel brides, first, so we can all be jealous and move right along!

Keira Knightley marries James Righton in a pale grey tulle, bustier dress from Chanel couture Spring/Summer 2006 collection. She was married on May 4, 2013 and her little tweed jacket was made by Mr. Karl Lagerfeld himself. Sigh, if only…

If you’re going to go with a short and flirty look like Keira, might we suggest you pair it with a Chanel-inspired statement necklace?

Chanel was all about turning heads and this statement necklace will do JUST that!

Drew glowed in Chanel on her wedding day, channeling her inner Jackie O and looking just as stunning.

Or you may be looking for a literal “Chanel” pearl look. Then, something like this would work for you:

As far as your flowers are concerned, our PERSONAL favorite would be a customized bouquet from our dear friend at Bridal Brooch Bouquets!

This custom made bridal brooch bouquet is the perfect mix of vintage and glam needed to pull off your very own Chanel inspired wedding!

We all know YOU are the star on your wedding day (duh), but, there are a couple other special ladies that will be twinkling right beside you. Bridesmaids. Your besties. Let’s not stick them in a frock that Coco would just DIE over, and NOT in a good way. Instead, let’s stick to the colors that embody Ms. Chanel herself and go with something along these lines:

This beautiful Jim Hjelm blush and rose chiffon gown over ivory lining will have your girls feeling classy and fabulous.

Find this bridesmaids dress here! You can even get your bridesmaids smaller brooch bouquets as featured above! *SWOON*

Reception décor. It. is. EVERYTHING. It tells your guests what kind of bride you are. It sets the mood for your entire wedding. A simple mix of pink, coral, white flowers with blush, black, and white accents is the perfect way to achieve “Chanel” without throwing the Chanel logo on everything!

When in doubt, throw some pink, white, black, and tweed in the mix and you will have a perfect Chanel inspired tablescape.

For a more luxurious look, don’t be afraid to experiment with different textures. Adding different chair covers (with the right theme) can make such a big and elegant statement!

As far as we’re concerned, gold is a neutral! Don’t be scared of it! You don’t have to think “gold chain/Mr. T” when you think ‘gold’! It’s made a huge comeback and look how it pops against this brick wall! This look would be great for a shower or sweets table at a more rustic/glam wedding!

Now, if you’re a little more adventurous and bold, you may opt for inspiration such as this:

More inspiration like above can be found at Style Unveiled!

My personal favorite inspiration for a Chanel wedding is from Grey Likes Weddings (see pic below)

We think Coco would be proud!

If you really really wanna turn some heads, this Coco Chanel inspired wedding is just for you!

Birdcages with favors really set the mood for the “Paris” theme that embodies “Chanel”!

If your husband-to-be let’s you get away with a literal Chanel theme, you best run with it honey! That’s what this bride did and we say GEAUX BIG OR GEAUX HOME, right?

Luxury Chanel inspired invitations will have your guests on the edge of their couch cushions waiting to see the spectacular that will be your ceremony and reception!

Another more “literal” take on Chanel decorations…

More Chanel inspired pics from above can be found via Rachel Laclingen

You can still be Chanel-inspired without being literal! This set up just screams Paris in the 1920s. By adding chandeliers, blush tone flowers and uplighting, you can achieve this look and give your ceremony more modern twist with vintage elegance!

Last but not least, let’s talk CAKES!

Classy- check. Fabulous- check. This pearl dripping cake is the perfect Chanel accessory!

This cake would work if you were going with a more black and white theme with blush/pink accents!

If you want classy, elegant, with a little Chanel tribute, this cake would fit the bill!

Or if you crave something a little more avant garde, this cake is definitely for you!

At the end of the day, just remember:

We hope you enjoyed this classy and fabulous post! If you have a wedding theme and aren’t quite sure how to execute it~ We’re your girls! XOXO, Two Belles

How to TAILGATE like a Southern Belle!

17 Aug

It’s that time of year again, belles. The air gets a little cooler (well, maybe not here), the leaves start to change and football season is upon us! Now any true Southern Belle knows that football season is the start of something special. And here at Two Belles we consider the tailgate the main event!

Now first, the outfit! You simply can’t just show up on jeans and a t-shirt on gameday. This isn’t the north, honey, and we southern gals sure do know how to dress for a Saturday at the stadium. Here’s a few options we like. Note, heels aren’t necessary but if you can rock them all day then more power to you!

Notice how once again a little leopard sneaks in. Leopard is a perfect neutral and if you play it right, it might just pass for Tiger print.

Now for the tailgate itself! Don’t be afraid to go all out! How cute is this tailgate setup from Grid Iron Belles?!? Purple and gold food in every variety or whatever your favorite team colors are!

Now for tailgating food! It’s always nice to have some men cook up a big ole pot of jambalaya but we like to get a little more creative!

Check out this great recipe here for the Junior League Tailgate Dip!!! Delicious.

The recipe can be found here:

And for the super ambitous!

How cute would these napkins be to wipe off all that delicious mess?!?

You can find these adorable napkins here:

And a personal favorite of Two Belles! Purple and gold melamine trays to serve all your goodies from!

You can find these lovelies here: and here
For $30 you get the cutest trays and if something happens to them you didn’t break the bank to buy them!

That’s all for today! We hope you go out and tailgate like rock stars this fall!

Geaux Tigers!

Disney-Themed Bachelorette~ Where all your dreams come true!

14 Aug

Every little girl wants to be a princess! Scratch that, every WOMAN in ‘Merica secretly still wants to be a princess! Well, thanks to Olivia’s clever choice of Bachelorette party theme, we were all about to channel our inner 6 year old. We all dressed as Disney INSPIRED princesses. No, we didn’t wear FULL out costumes. I can assure you that we got even more attention than we would have if we had been in full costume. 12 hot girls dressed as Disney princesses? You’re welcome, Biloxi. You’re welcome.

The gang on Night 1. Attire: Black dresses (& pants for Carlo!) and white for the Bride-to-Be!

On the first night, we surprised the Bride-to-Be with a lingerie shower and showered her with gifts (and jello shots- Thanks Carlo!) When planning a shower or party for a friend, it doesn’t have to be that fancy! We all went to Biloxi and had a “hotel room party” for the Bride-to-Be and we had a BLAST! What happens in Biloxi, stays in Biloxi, so…sorry the pictures will be few and far between.

“Cheers Betches” Lingerie shower/pre-party!

Springtime in Paris~ A floral bridal shower (PIC HEAVY!)

5 Aug

It’s spring time in Paris. The flowers are blooming, the champagne is flowing, the Eiffel Tower is radiant, and you’re engaged! How could it be any better? Well, I guess I should clarify- we weren’t exactly IN Paris. But, we sure made this event feel like you were there. Here’s how we pulled off this “Springtime in Paris” Bridal shower for our very own “Belle”, Olivia!

As you entered the shower, you were greeted by a large Eiffel Tower atop a white candlelit café table. Everything about this entry way just screams “PARIS”!!!

Flower arrangements constructed and provided by Two Belles Event Planning

Make your way through the entryway, the flower theme continues.

How fabulous is this vintage birdcage display of flowers?

Two Belles is ALL about details. Big and small. No detail will go unnoticed! We collaborated with our bride to make sure her shower was everything she hoped it would be!

You KNOW we love a good monogram! Monogrammed chargers were a gift from a bridesmaid. We wanted to have a fun game for guests to enjoy without putting them on the spot. We created a personalized “Bride & Groom Mad Lib” for them to fill out! The bride and groom had some good laughs post shower!

Keep Calm & Love Paris

Check your diet at the door, the French-inspired, mouth-watering food at this party was sure to tip your scale a little. Ok, a lot. I must say, it was worth every calorie!

Let’s be honest, we live in the South. It’s always acceptable to drink. Even on Sundays. So, we had a Champagne “Bubbly” Bar and it was a huge hit!

Whether you want fruit, Chambord Raspberry Liqueur, or orange juice, you had plenty of choices here!

Streamer and Pinwheel backdrop for the Champagne Bar

DIY Chalkboard platters, flowers, pearls, and candles!

Champagne Bar again. Can you tell we sorta liked the way this turned out?

Flower banner and Paris landmarks really took the guests out of Louisiana and into France!

The flower theme did not stop there! The guests took home “soap” in the shape of flowers!

DIY Wedding on a Budget

4 Aug

Hi Two Belles Fans,

Sorry we’ve been MIA lately! Things have been super busy lately! Don’t get me wrong, we are not complaining! We have been working on lots of exciting projects that we will fill you in on soon! First, let’s rewind to April when we had the pleasure of working with Kayla & Danny.

Kayla had a very clear vision for her wedding! We love a hands-on bride and Kayla definitely made our job fun and easy! A mom of two, she found time to make her own centerpieces, keep her sanity, and even add personal touches throughout her reception!

L to R: DeShae Pardon of Two Belles Event Planning, Danny & Kayla Boudreaux, Olivia Byers of Two Belles Event Planning

Family was very important to this couple and their reception was a labor of love full of help from family and friends. They wanted an elegant ceremony and reception with custom chair covers, draping, columns, a sweetheart table for the newlyweds, and even one for the kids! They also wanted their guests to be able to kick their shoes off and have a good time! Special touches like “his” and “her” drink specials, comfort food, and a “sweet” candy bar, made their guests feel right at home! Enjoy the pictures!

Custom chair sashes, Chandelier Aisle Décor, and floral arrangements provided by Two Belles Event Planning

Sweetheart table for the bride, groom, maid of honor and best man. Centerpieces are painted wine bottles with baby’s breath. Very affordable and a great DIY project!

A great way to make your kids feel special is to provide them with their own space! This couple included their kids with a “dum-dum topiary” centerpiece, coloring books, and other toys to keep them entertained throughout the reception!

Pictures of the bride and groom added a personal touch to this couples “candy buffet”. Table poem provided by Two Belles Event Planning

Painted wine bottles and baby’s breath are a great way to utilize space while being budget friendly! A fully set table adds an element of sophistication and formality and really sets the mood for your romantic reception!

Two Belles can set a table like no other! If you want your linen napkins folded, we can do it! With a simple centerpiece like this, setting a table really fills in the space and makes a room look complete!

Bride and Groom drink specials! “Jack & Coke” and “Blushing Bride”! This is a great way to keep your guests from waiting in line for a drink!

Simple backdrop with sheers, columns, and floral arrangement are a great way to create an alter without breaking the bank! Flowers and vase provided by Two Belles Event Planning.

Thanks for following us and we hope you liked today’s post! Just remember, if you’re on a budget and don’t think you can afford a wedding planner~ you’re wrong! We transformed this bride’s simple venue into something fabulous, personal, AND budget-friendly! Remember, we provide southern flair on ANY budget! Contact us today so we can make all of your wedding dreams come true!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Boudreaux and thank you for sharing your special day with us!
